Cointime update: BNB Chain plans to migrate its validators to the Reth-based BSC-Reth client by the end of 2026. Internal benchmarks integrating Reth 2.5.1 show BSC-Reth throughput roughly 40% higher than the TrieDB-based configuration, with p95 block write latency of 71.6 ms (34.9% lower than BSC-Geth) and p95 execution latency of 56.5 ms (35.5% lower). BNB Chain will evaluate supporting BEP-675 in BSC-Reth to extend block build time, and explore block-level access lists (BALs) and a faster-executing EVM2.
