Cointime reports: MiniMax founder, chairman and CEO Yan Junjie said the company will stay open source until it reaches AGI, arguing open models broaden adoption and yield cheaper technical feedback, and that AGI should not belong to any single company, country or organization. In his first English-language podcast interview, he said profitability will come not from raising model prices but from technical innovation that lowers inference costs. MiniMax’s annualized recurring revenue run rate exceeded $800 million as of August, with enterprise business above 80% on an annualized basis.
