Cointime update: China’s central bank said it shut down planned offline Solana events in the country, including a “Solana Accelerate China 2026” gathering, after the token’s promoters ran brand advertising from a Shanghai office tower. A PBOC official said Solana is a virtual currency and that promoting it violates a February notice from eight government departments listing virtual-currency business as illegal financial activity. The bank said it will investigate the involved entities and individuals.
