Cointime reports: SkyBridge Capital founder Anthony Scaramucci said Trump’s crypto business and meme coin issuance caused the CLARITY Act to lose Democratic support and weakened bipartisan momentum. He said the meme coins, launched before Trump took office in January 2025, were one reason the bill stalled, and cited disagreement over ethics provisions restricting officials’ crypto holdings. The Senate failed to advance the bill on Sept. 15, with a procedural motion falling 49-50, short of the 60 votes needed.
