Bitcoin Breaks $76,000 as Solana’s On-Chain RWA Value Hits $5 Billion

Solana disclosed that on-chain real-world asset value reached a record $5 billion in October, alongside $60 billion in DEX volume and 14 million stablecoin-holding addresses. The milestone coincides with Bitcoin reclaiming $76,000 and the Alpenglow consensus upgrade going live, signaling deeper convergence between high-performance chains and institutional tokenization.

Bitcoin Recovers Above $76,000

Bitcoin briefly broke through the $76,000 mark, trading at $76,004 at the time of writing, with its 24-hour decline narrowing to 0.71%. The move comes amid a broader mixed session for major digital assets: ETH held steady near $2,241, BNB edged up 0.5% to $694, and SOL traded around $89.98. XRP was the notable laggard, falling 3.06% to $1.1799, while WLFI and HYPE posted gains of 4.73% and 2.00%, respectively. Market participants continue to flag elevated volatility and advise strict risk controls.

Solana’s RWA Milestone

The headline development of the session came from Solana, which disclosed that the value of real-world assets (RWA) on its network reached $5 billion in October, a record high. The disclosure also highlighted a broader set of on-chain metrics:

  • Decentralized exchange trading volume of $60 billion
  • 14 million addresses holding stablecoins
  • Cumulative stablecoin card spending of $1 billion
  • The Alpenglow consensus protocol went live on mainnet on October 21, targeting roughly 150-millisecond transaction finality and 200-millisecond slot times

The RWA figure is significant because it moves Solana beyond its historical identity as a high-throughput retail trading venue and into the institutional asset-tokenization conversation. Tokenized treasuries, private credit, and fund shares are increasingly being issued on high-performance chains, and $5 billion represents a meaningful share of the total on-chain RWA market.

Infrastructure and Institutional Flows

Supporting infrastructure continues to expand. Circle minted another 250 million USDC on Solana, a signal of expected stablecoin demand. Meanwhile, Aave Labs acquired the team and technology behind Avon to push into fixed-rate lending, with Aave now holding over $30 billion in deposits and $12 billion in active loans. Uniswap confirmed support for V4 Hooks on Elysium, the Hyperliquid L2 scheduled to launch on November 9, enabling customizable liquidity pools with dynamic fees.

On the institutional side, Fidelity moved 27,000 ETH — roughly $60.27 million — to Galaxy Digital over the course of the day, potentially for sale, a reminder that large holders remain active in managing exposure.

Forward Look

Solana’s Alpenglow upgrade, if it delivers on its sub-second finality targets, could materially improve the chain’s suitability for tokenized securities and payment rails, where settlement certainty matters more than raw throughput. Combined with $5 billion in RWA value and 14 million stablecoin-holding addresses, the network is building the distribution layer that tokenization needs. The key test ahead is whether institutional issuers follow the infrastructure — and whether Bitcoin’s recovery above $76,000 can hold as a risk-appetite barometer for the sector.
