Cointime update: ByteDance is considering expanding its data center project in northeastern Brazil, seeking developers for a second phase at the Pecém Port industrial complex in Ceará state, where the project qualifies for data-export tax breaks. The expansion would be larger than the existing $10 billion, 300-megawatt facility under construction in Ceará. ByteDance is also in early talks for a similar-sized data center outside Pecém to serve local Brazilian customers.
