Cointime update: An emergency accommodation cabin for Antarctic field research, jointly developed by China Construction Eighth Engineering Division and the National Key Laboratory of Green Building, departed for Antarctica aboard the Xuelong 2 on the 7th. The modular “mobile warm house” is designed to provide safe, reliable shelter for Chinese researchers conducting fieldwork in extreme cold and storm conditions, and is expected to be used on future expeditions.
