Cointime update: Zcash’s NU7 network upgrade, expected to take effect around 9:30 p.m. ET on Nov. 5, will make roughly 12,226 ZEC held in the 2016 Sprout privacy pool permanently unspendable, valued at about $16 million at $1,300 per ZEC. Holders have only hours left to migrate; about 10,000 ZEC moved out last week, but outflows fell to roughly 40 ZEC by Wednesday. The upgrade retires outdated transaction formats and cuts block times from 75 seconds to a 25-second target.
