Cointime update: A 23-year-old man in France’s Vendée region, identified as Ayman R., was sentenced to 30 months in prison on November 4 for shooting at would-be kidnappers targeting his crypto holdings, with the court ruling the shot was retaliation rather than self-defense. The incident occurred on Halloween afternoon when the same gang that had attacked him earlier tried to force entry at his father’s home. He was also banned from owning firearms for 15 years and from entering Vendée for five years.
