Cointime reports: The Houthis have demanded $51 billion from Saudi Arabia to end hostilities, after attacks on Saudi oil tankers in the Red Sea and the seizure of a strategic chokepoint in the Bab al-Mandab Strait. The group said the sum would compensate for losses from years of Saudi airstrikes and a long blockade. The Houthis also demand formal recognition as Yemen’s rulers. Neither the Saudi government nor Houthi leadership responded to requests for comment.
