Anthropic IPO: The Scarcity Game Behind the $1.5 Trillion Valuation
Cointime reports: Anthropic has officially filed its IPO prospectus with the SEC, planning to list on Nasdaq under the ticker ANT with an expected valuation of $1.5 trillion to $1.75 trillion. The move marks a watershed moment for the AI industry and global capital markets, as one of the most hotly anticipated offerings in years finally opens to public investors. Yet the central question is not whether Anthropic is worth the hype, but who will actually get a piece of it.
Demand Far Outstrips Supply
The frenzy around Anthropic equity is already visible in unusual places. In San Francisco’s Bay Area, investment banker Storm Duncan listed his $8 million estate for sale, but instead of cash, he asked for Anthropic stock. He even offered buyers 20% of the upside during the lock-up period. Other sellers have followed suit, including a tech PR firm owner offering a 20% discount for buyers paying with Anthropic shares. These transactions underscore a simple reality: Anthropic equity is among the scarcest and most sought-after assets in Silicon Valley.
That scarcity is likely to persist in the public market. Traditional IPO allocations flow primarily through underwriters to institutional clients, leaving retail investors with limited access. Even when brokers allow retail subscriptions, allocations are often prorated. By the time shares hit the secondary market, prices have typically moved well beyond the offering price—as seen with SpaceX’s June listing, which closed 19.2% above its IPO price on day one and surged 67% intraday within a week.
Crypto Platforms Bridge the Gap
This supply-demand imbalance has created an opening for crypto-native platforms. Bitget’s IPO Prime is offering retail investors a path to Anthropic’s IPO through stablecoin subscriptions and tokenized products. Unlike previous Pre-IPO tokens tied to SpaceX and OpenAI—which were yield-bearing certificates rather than actual shares—the Anthropic offering delivers rANT tokens backed 1:1 by real Anthropic stock, with corporate actions reflected in the tokenized asset.
The subscription opens in two rounds: a VIP round on November 5 and a public round on November 10, both with a minimum investment of $100. The public round caps individual investment at $25,000, while the VIP round allows up to $3 million. Fees are 5% for the public round and 12% for the VIP round. Bitget reports historical allocation rates of 40% to 80% through its partner channels, though final allocations depend on underwriter results.
Valuation and Growth Story
Anthropic’s appeal rests on extraordinary growth. Q3 2026 revenue alone was 3.7 times its full-year 2025 revenue, and the company projects 2028 revenue of $190 billion to $200 billion. Such metrics justify, at least in part, the trillion-dollar valuation. However, investors should note that rANT holders do not receive shareholder voting rights, and returns ultimately depend on the offering price, allocation ratio, and post-IPO performance.
Forward Outlook
As Anthropic transitions from private scarcity to public liquidity, the debate over its valuation will intensify. For retail investors, tokenized IPO access represents a meaningful step toward democratizing capital markets—but it is not a guaranteed windfall. The real bet, whether through Bay Area real estate swaps or $100 subscriptions, remains the same: Anthropic’s ability to sustain hypergrowth in the years ahead.
